The Crop Index is down 3 points (2.0 percent) and the Livestock Index decreased 1 point (0.9 percent). Producers received higher prices for milk, onions, grapes, and apples and lower prices for wheat, soybeans, barley, and potatoes. In addition to prices, the overall index is also affected by the seasonal change based on a 3-year average mix of commodities producers sell. Increased monthly marketings of soybeans, corn, apples, and peanuts offset decreased marketings of cattle, broilers, wheat, and grapes.
