Glacier County, Montana

Glacier County was established in April 1919
and Cut Bank is the county seat. It occupies a
portion of north central Montana. The Canadian
border defines its northern boundary, and the
crest of the main range of the Rocky Mountains
is its western boundary. Nearly one-half of
Glacier National Park lies within the county's
boundaries as the western border of Glacier
County runs down the center of the park. The
rugged mountains in the west give way to
sloping plains in the eastern portion of the
    county. The Blackfeet Indian Reservation
occupies all but the extreme eastern edge of
the rest of the county. The east-west length
of Glacier County is traversed by the Milk
River, Cut Bank Creek and the Two Medicine
    River.
