Liberty County, Montana

Liberty County is one of the smallest counties
in the state. It lies in north central Montana
with its northern boundary stretching to the
Canadian border. The land is mostly flat
with the exception of low elevation hills that
lie in the northwestern section of the county.
The Marias River traverses the county from
west to east, flowing out of Lake Elwell at
the Tiber Dam in southern Liberty County
and eventually running into the Missouri River
    in central Montana.
