Jefferson County, Montana


        Established in February 1865, Jefferson County
    is one of the original counties of the
    Montana Territory. Within its boundaries are
    are parts of the Deer Lodge and Helena National
    Forests. The Boulder River traverses the
    county from west to east. The town of Boulder
    is the county seat.
