McCone County, Montana


        McCone County is situated in the north-
    eastern section of Montana with the Missouri
    River defining its northern border. A leg of
    the Fort Peck Lake lies just on the western
    boundary of the county. The county is
    characterized mostly by plains, although the
    land along the northern boundary is broken up
    by the Missouri Breaks along the river. The
    county was established in April 1919.
