Ravalli County, Montana


        The entire western boundary and half of
    the southern boundary of Ravalli County
    comprise a part of the Montana/Idaho border.
    The county occupies land in western Montana.
    Much of this land is the Bitterroot National
    Forest. The Bitterroot River runs through the
    center of the county from its northern to its
   southern border, through what is known as the
    Bitterroot Valley. The Bitterroot Mountain
    range, which is part of the Selway-Bitterroot
    Wilderness Area lies on the western border of
    the county.
