Hamlin State Statistician ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CATTLE ON FEED Nebraska feedlots, with capacities of 1,000 or more head, contained 2.28 million cattle on feed on December 1, up 5 percent from last year and slightly above 2001. United States cattle and calves on feed for slaughter market for feedlots with capacity of 1,000 or more head totaled 11.3 million head on December 1, 2003. The inventory was 4 percent above December 1, 2002 but 5 percent below December 1, 2001.
