Mark Harris Director ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cattle On Feed Nebraska feedlots, with capacities of 1,000 or more head, contained 2.4 million cattle on feed on December 1, up 4 percent from last year and 5 percent above Decmber 1, 2003. This is the second highest December 1 inventory since the series began in 1994. United States cattle and calves on feed for slaughter market for feedlots with capacity of 1,000 or more head totaled 11.7 million head on December 1, 2005. The inventory was 3 percent above both December 1, 2004 and 2003.
