In 2007, there were 316 farms growing cabbage in New York, up nine percent from the 2002 level of 291 farms. Those farms reported 10,259 harvested acres of cabbage in New York, a 13 percent decrease from the 2002 level of 11,776 harvested acres. The number of farms growing snap beans increased 46 percent from 454 farms in 2002 to 979 farms in 2007. Total harvested acres increased from 28,471 acres in 2002 to 31,204 acres in 2007, a 30 percent increase. The 2007 Census of Agriculture is the most comprehensive source of statistics portraying our Nation's agriculture.
