The value of utilized production was above the previous year for apples, grapes, and peaches. Apple production was down 5 percent to 1.30 billion pounds. Total grape production increased 32 percent from 2009 to 176,000 tons. Tart cherry production totaled 7.8 million pounds, down 30 percent from the 2009 crop. Pear production was down 26 percent to 8,300 tons, and peach production was down 9 percent to 5,900 tons. Nationally, in 2010, New York ranked second in apple production, third in grape production, and fourth in pear and tart cherry production.
