Temperatures struggled into the 30s for the eastern half of the state on Wednesday and Thursday while the western half of the state saw slightly warmer conditions. The coldest core of air arrived on Wednesday night and produced snow across most of the eastern half of the state. With this cold outbreak, most of the state saw below freezing temperatures for several hours throughout the week and killer freezes for most plant life. Temperatures warmed back into the 40s and 50s for the weekend with dry air dominating the state. Outlook, October 16-22: Monday will be the warmest day of the week with temperatures in the 50s for most of the state with scattered rain showers. Temperatures will drop into the 40s on Tuesday with a chance of rain during the day and a rain/snow mix at night. Temperatures will remain cold for the rest of the week as an upper level storm over the Hudson Bay sends waves of energy south of the border. Temperatures statewide will remain in the 40s through the weekend with overnight lows in the 20s. Another chance of snow and rain showers will come late on Friday and will last throughout the weekend.
