Cool weather dominated again this last week, but drier conditions prevailed over much of the state. A series of weak storms moved from west to east across the state, but most were starved of moisture and dropped little precipitation. Some good news was the warmer temperatures that eventually moved into the state for the weekend. Although temperatures were still below normal in many areas, 50s were a welcome sight on Saturday and Sunday. Outlook, October 30-November 5: Another shot of winter is on tap for this week as the first significant chance of accumulating snow and cold weather arrives. Monday looks like it will be the warmest day of the work week as a large storm pushes across the state. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s for most of the state before the snow begins to fall. Temperatures will plummet as a storm works its way from the northwest to southeast across the state. Behind this storm will be very cold air and strong winds that could whip up any of the snow that accumulates on the ground. Temperatures will struggle to reach 30 degrees for the rest of the work week as Canadian air filters in. Snow should taper off on Tuesday and conditions should remain quiet across the state through the weekend. Temperatures will slowly rebound into the upper 30s and low 40s across the region for the weekend with upper 40s for the end of the weekend. Overnight lows will be very cold throughout the week with temperatures dipping into the teens and perhaps some single digit readings for areas near the Canadian Border.
