RAMEY, DIRECTOR REYNOLDSBURG, OH (614)728-2100 OHIO CORN, SOYBEAN, AND WHEAT STOCKS UP FROM PREVIOUS YEAR Corn stocks in all positions in Ohio on December 1, 2009 totaled 467.9 million bushels, 30 percent above the 360.8 million bushels stored on December 1, 2008. On-farm stocks, at 330.0 million bushels increased 27 percent from the 260.0 million bushels on December 1, 2008. On-farm stocks accounted for 71 percent of the total stored. Off-farm stocks increased 37 percent from a year ago to 137.9 million bushels. Soybean stocks in all positions in Ohio totaled 152.4 million bushels on December 1, 2009 up 24 percent from the previous December. Off-farm stocks at 52.4 million bushels are 22 percent above the 43.0 million bushels on hand December 1, 2008 and accounted for 34 percent of total storage. On-farm stocks at 100.0 million bushels are up 25 percent from the 80.0 million bushels stored on farms at the same time last year. All wheat stored in Ohio as of December 1, 2009 totaled 75.7 million bushels, up 16 percent from December 2008. Off-farm stocks, at 70.2 million bushels, are up 15 percent from last year and account for 93 percent of total stocks. On-farm stocks at 5.5 million bushels are up from the 4.2 million reported on December 1, 2008. Corn stored in all positions on December 1, 2009 totaled 10.9 billion bushels, up 9 percent from December 1, 2008. Of the total stocks, 7.45 billion bushels are stored on farms, up 15 percent from a year earlier. Off-farm stocks, at 3.49 billion bushels, are down 3 percent from a year ago. The September - November 2009 indicated disappearance is 3.89 billion bushels, compared with 3.64 billion bushels during the same period last year. Soybeans stored in all positions on December 1, 2009 totaled 2.34 billion bushels, up 3 percent from December 1, 2008. Soybean stocks stored on farms totaled 1.23 billion bushels, up 4 percent from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 1.11 billion bushels, are up 2 percent from last December. Indicated disappearance for September - November 2009 totaled 1.16 billion bushels, up 30 percent from the same period a year earlier. All wheat stored in all positions on December 1, 2009 totaled 1.77 billion bushels, up 24 percent from a year ago. On-farm stocks are estimated at 559 million bushels, up 23 percent from last December. Off-farm stocks, at 1.21 billion bushels, are up 25 percent from a year ago. The September - November 2009 indicated disappearance is 444 million bushels, up 2 percent from the same period a year earlier. ###
