Preliminary prices for swine and all beef cattle were down. The preliminary all wheat price for April, at $4.12, was up 24 cents from last month and up 82 cents from last year. The winter wheat price, at $4.10, was up 29 cents from last month and up 98 cents from last April. The spring wheat price, at $4.14, was 18 cents higher than last month and 73 cents higher than last year. The April soybean price, at $5.12, was 17 cents lower than last month and 88 cents lower than last year. The corn price, at $1.85, was up 1 cent from last month and up 3 cents from last year. The preliminary all sunflower price, at $8.61, was down $2.09 from last month and down $5.69 from last year. The preliminary April all hog price, at $38.80, was down $4.10 from last month and $13.60 below last year. Barrows and gilts, at $40.00, were down $4.10 from last month and down $13.60 from last year, while sows, at $27.50, were down $5.00 from March and down $13.70 from April 2005. The preliminary April all beef cattle price, at $91.60, was down $4.50 from last month and down $7.70 from last year. Steers and heifers, at $97.70, were down $3.30 from March and down $7.30 from April of last year. Calves, at $127.00, were down $7.00 from last month and down $11.00 from April 2005. The all hay price for April, at $63.00 per ton, was up $1.00 from March and up $2.00 from last year. The alfalfa price, at $65.00 per ton, was up $1.00 from last month and up $3.00 from last year. The other hay price, at $49.00, was down $1.00 from last month and down $3.00 from April 2005.
