SD-CROP-LIVESTOCK South Dakota JUNE CROP REPORT News Release June 10, 2005 WINTER WHEAT FORECASTED PRODUCTION UP FROM LAST MONTH SIOUX FALLS, June 10, 2005 - The South Dakota June 1 winter wheat production forecast is 65.8 million bushels, up 4 percent from last month's 63.0 million bushels, according to USDA's South Dakota Ag Statistics Office. The 2005 forecast is 17 percent above last year's harvest of 56.3 million bushels. Yield is forecast at 47 bushels per acre, up 2 bushels from last month and 2 bushels above last year's yield. The current forecast breaks the record production of 61.5 million bushels in 2003 and ties the record yield set in 1999.
