2002 Census of Agriculture

The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) will conduct the 26th Census of Agriculture. The census is the most comprehensive source of statistics portraying our Nation's agriculture. It is the only source of uniform agricultural data for every county in the United States.
Data supplied through the census of agriculture by farmers and ranchers will help the agricultural community make informed decisions on agriculture.

Farm Identification Survey

The first agricultural census of the new millennium begins with the Farm Identification Survey (FIS). This consists of seven questions which will help determine agricultural status of potential farms and ranches across the Nation. Although no report will be generated from the FIS, it is an important precursor to the 2002 Census of Agriculture, which will be released in early 2004.
