Status of Women Statisticians in the Drug Industry

The chair of the ISI Committee on Women in Statistics (CWS) is organizing an invited paper meeting on the experience of women statisticians in professional life, for the 54th session of the ISI to be held in August 2003 at Berlin.

A survey is being conducted on the experiences of women statisticians, who are currently working or have previously worked, in the drug industries of the United States, such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and CRO.

The objectives of the studyare as follows: Evaluation of opportunities women statisticians get to participate in management and strategic decisions. Evaluation of their contributions to leadership in drug development and the recognition they receive for their contributions. Comparison of representation of men and women in the industry. Evaluation of the link between women’s representation and their vertical movement. Measurement of the status of minorities in the industry.

Your response to the survey will greatly help the members of the executive committee on women statisticians at ISI to understand the culture in the drug industry, and the challenges and problems faced by women statisticians.

The survey is completely anonymous; your name or email address will not figure anywhere in your response.

Please click here for the survey.

After you’ve completed the survey, click on the Submit Your Responses button at the bottom of the page.

Please record your responses as soon as possible, or latest by October 31, 2002.

Thank you very much for your time and your contribution.
