CWS Activities at the 57th Session of the ISI in Durban, South Africa
The Committee on Women in Statistics will be very active sponsoring three Special Topics Sessions, conducting meetings for CWS members and for CWS Country Representatives, and taking part in an ISI planned dinner for all women attending the ISI meetings. The purpose of the dinner is to allow young professional women to meet and network with more established professional women.
ISI Committee on Membership Expansion and Renewal,
2003, But Ongoing.
The CWS is participating in the work of this important
ad hoc committee of the ISI. Beverley Carlson and Denise Lievesley are members
of this committee. The Committee, under the leadership of David Moore, is exploring
ways to expand ISI membership by attracting members from under-represented
groups - younger members, women and members from more countries with little
or non representation. The CWS is particularly concerned about expanding the
participation of women in the ISI. If you have any suggestions on how to
achieve this please forward them to Beverley Carlson and Denise Lievesley.
CWS Membership Drive
Complementary to the work
of the Committee on Membership and Renewal, the Committee on
Women in Statistics is joining forces with the ISI Sections to
identify women candidates to propose for ISI membership. If you
wish to make proposals, please contact:
