nd-prices-economics NEWS RELEASE Agricultural Prices November 30, 2005 North Dakota Agricultural Prices The Index of Prices Received for All Farm Products in November is 118 percent of the 1990-1992 base, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistical Service, North Dakota Field Office. This is down 6 percent from last year and 1 percent below two years ago. The All Crops Index, at 112 percent of the base, is down 10 percent from November 2004 and the All Livestock Index, at 138 percent, is up 4 percent from last year. November indexes are calculated using preliminary mid-month prices. The October Index of Prices Received for All Farm Products, recalculated with full month prices, was 120 percent of the base, down 5 percent from October 2004. The All Crops Index, at 116 percent, was down 7 percent from the previous year while the All Livestock Index, at 137 percent, was up 5 percent. Preliminary November prices, followed by the change from October: Spring Wheat, $3.60 per bushel, down 1 cent; Durum Wheat, $3.20 per bushel, down 10 cents; Winter Wheat, $2.90 per bushel, down 1 cent; Feed Barley, $1.35 per bushel, down 9 cents; Malting Barley, $2.30 per bushel, up 14 cents; Corn, $1.70 per bushel, down 6 cents; Soybeans, $5.40 per bushel, down 18 cents; Flaxseed, $5.85 per bushel, down 20 cents; Oil Sunflower, $10.50 per hundredweight (cwt.), down 90 cents; Non-Oil Sunflower, $16.10 per hundredweight (cwt.), down $2.10; All Dry Edible Beans, $15.70 per cwt., down $1.20; All Potatoes, $6.20 per cwt., unchanged; Alfalfa Hay, $54.00 per ton, down $3.00; Other Hay, $39.00 per ton, unchanged; Steers and Heifers, $115.00 per cwt., down $3.00; Cows, $48.00 per cwt., unchanged; Calves, $132.00 per cwt., down $2.00. October whole month prices, with no preliminary November, followed by the change from September: Canola, $9.48 per cwt., up 40 cents; Pinto Beans, $15.60 per cwt., up 20 cents; Navy Beans, $18.60 per cwt., up 30 cents; Fresh Potatoes, $9.40 per cwt., up 70 cents; Potatoes for Processing, $4.95 per cwt., down 15 cents; Hogs, $48.10 per cwt., down 70 cents; Lambs, $113.00 per cwt., down $4.00; Sheep, $45.00 per cwt., up $2.00. November prices are preliminary and based on sales data for only part of the month. They will be replaced with whole month prices in next month's report. October prices are based on sales data for the entire month.
