Mission:

To improve and advance the services and programs of the National Agricultural Statistics Service through research, analysis, and experimentation in statistical methodology and advanced technology and in the development and maintenance of a national area sampling frame and samples.

Vision:

Research Division will lead the agency toward improvements in practices to further NASS as a highly respected statistical organization providing top quality U.S. agricultural and rural statistics. Improvements will include higher quality survey data, less burden to data suppliers, better estimates to data users, and greater efficiency in the use of available resources.
