1998 VEGETATION CONDITION

COMPARABLE 1997 PERIOD: 08/29 - 09/11/97

NDVI data calculated from the NOAA-14 AVHRR sensor are used to create vegetation condition imagery. Prior to 1995 the NOAA-11 satellite was the source for AVHRR. However, since the NOAA-11 sensor may not be directly comparable, only the NOAA-14 data is used here. The images selectable below include displays of the NDVI index, ratio images showing NDVI from this period divided by NDVI from the comparable 1997 period, and ratio images showing NDVI from this period divided by the Median NDVI from the three previous years (all available years of NOAA-14 data). Agricultural Statistics District (ASD) and/or county boundaries are shown where the resolution allows. Thumbnail images, where available, allow season to-date review. A thumbnail overview of all images is also available. Select a GIF image to view from the three tables below.
