Planar coordinates are encoded using row and column
Abscissae (x-coordinates) are specified to the nearest 30
Ordinates (y-coordinates) are specified to the nearest 30
Planar coordinates are specified in meters
The horizontal datum used is North American Datum of 1983.
The ellipsoid used is Geodetic Reference 80.

The flattening of the ellipsoid used is 1/298.257.
|10||SPEC10: Dryland Grain > 33% cultivated (predominantly dryland grain, but can include some non-dryland cropland. Stratum 10 will be limited to these counties in the north-central area of the state:Gilliam, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Wasco.|
|31||Agri-Urban: >100 homes per square mile|
|32||Commercial: >100 homes per square mile|
|41||SPEC40: <15% Cultivated: National Forest (follows national forest boundaries and township/range lines instead of locating ground observable boundaries. Any small blocks of national forest that are too small to create a primary sampling unit will be included in stratum 43.)|
|43||SPEC40: <15% Cultivated: non-National Forest (all other land with less then 15% agriculture not in other strata.)|

Data sources used in this process:
The sources used for registration of strata boundaries are 1:100,000 scale Digital Raster Graphics
There are no known gaps or missing data. This data set includes the area in square miles and number of acres for each strata. The area sampling frame strata boundaries were not edge matched to strata boundaries of adjacent states.
Checks for topological consistency were performed on this data set.
