<title>Washington&#39;s 2012 Apple Production Up 5 Percent from Last Year, Grape Production Expected Up 31 Percent</title>

<description>Washington&#39;s first production estimate for the 2012 apple crop is 5.70 billion pounds, up 5 percent
from last year. The State&#39;s 2012 grape crop benefited from milder winter and spring conditions and is expected to
increase 31 percent over last year&#39;s crop that was damaged by an early fall freeze.</description>

<description>The August 1 forecast for the 2012 winter wheat crop in Washington is 71.0 bushels per acre, 2
bushels above the July 1 forecast and 4 bushels below last year&#39;s record high yield. With 1.67 million acres for harvest,
production is expected to reach 119 million bushels, 9 percent below last year&#39;s crop. Estimates in the Crop
Production report released today by the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) were based on conditions as of
August 1.</description>

<title>Spring Wheat Acreage for Harvest Down 23 Percent from Last Year</title>

<description>The results of a State and National survey conducted in early June 2012 showed
that Washington growers expect to harvest 1.70 million acres of winter wheat in 2012, down 60,000 acres from last
year. Spring wheat harvested acreage is expected to be down 140,000 acres from 2011.
All dry hay for harvest is expected to reach 790,000 acres, 10,000 acres above last year&#39;s crop.</description>

<description>The quantity of all wheat stored in Washington on June 1,
2012 was 38.2 million bushels, down 19 percent from a year ago. Wheat stored on-farm decreased from
2.3 million bushels in 2011 to 1.6 million bushels on June 1, 2012. Off-farm stocks were also down
from 44.8 million bushels a year ago to 36.6 million bushels being held on June 1, 2012.</description>

<description>U.S. sweet cherry production is forecast at 382,150 tons, up 11
percent from 2011. Washington growers reported excellent weather this year. Winter conditions were
moderate and warm spring conditions allowed for an excellent bloom and resulted in good pollination.</description>
