<title>Washington&#39;s 2011 Winter Wheat Yield Second Highest on Record, Harvest Progressing</title>

<description>The August 1 forecast for the 2011 winter wheat crop in Washington is 72.0 bushels per 
acre, 3 bushels above the July 1 forecast and 3 bushels above the final 2010 yield. If realized, this would be the 
second highest yield behind the 73.0 bushels per acre in 2000. Spring wheat yields are forecast to be 53.0 bushels per acre,
up 3 bushels from July and 1 bushel from the 2010 yield.</description>

<description>Production of non-storage summer onions is forecast at 9.61 million cwt, down 4 percent from last year. Harvested area
covers 18,000 acres, down 4 percent from 2010. Sweet corn processors contracted 338,450 acres for harvest in 2011, down

<title>Washington&#39;s 2011 Potato Acreage Up 15 Percent from Previous Year</title>

<description>Washington growers planted an estimated 155,000 acres of
potatoes in 2011, 20,000 acres more than in 2010 and 10,000 acres more than the acreage planted two
years ago.  Eighty-nine percent of the Washington crop was planted to Russet type varieties, 7 percent to White varieties 
and the remainder is reportedly yellow, red, and blue types.</description>

<title>US Peach Production Down 2 Percent from 2010, Apricots Down 9 Percent From Last Year</title>

<description>The United States peach production forecast is 1.13 million tons, down 2
percent from 2010. Washington peach producers indicated that the late fall 2010 freeze and cold, wet spring conditions have had a
negative effect on this year&#39;s peach crop but overall, peaches have faired well.  The final forecast for the 2011 US apricot crop 
is 59,175 tons, down 9 percent from last year.</description>

<description>Dry Edible Pea planted acreage in Washington is up 3 percent from 2010 to
70,000 acres. Nationally, planted acreage fell to 416,000, down 45 percent from 2010. Washington growers planted 60,000 acres 
of lentils. This is an 18,000 acre decrease from the 78,000 acres planted in 2010.</description>
