<title>2009 US Dry Edible Pea and Lentil Yield Up From 2008</title>

peas in 2009 is estimated at 865,300 acres, down 2 percent from 2008. Area for harvest, at
835,900 acres, is 1 percent below a year ago. Production is estimated at 17.4 million cwt, up 42
percent from the previous year with the average yield up 631 pounds per acre from the previous
year. Washington producers planted dry edible peas on 85,000 acres, 13 percent above the
previous year&#39;s planting.</description>

<title>Washington&#39;s 2009 Apple Production Lower, 2009 Grape Production Higher</title>

<description>The final U.S. apple production forecast for the 2009 crop
year is 10.02 billion pounds, down 1 percent from August but up 3 percent from 2008. Washington
production, which makes up 56 percent of the total, is forecast at 5.60 billion pounds, down 3 percent
from both the previous forecast and 2008. U.S. all grape production for 2009 is forecast at 7.02 million tons, virtually unchanged from
the August forecast but down 4 percent from last year. California leads the U.S. in grape production
with 89 percent of the total. Washington and New York are the next largest producing States, with 6
percent and 2 percent, respectively.</description>

<title>Washington&#39;s 2008 Agricultural Value Dips Slightly</title>

<description>The value of Washington&#39;s 2008 agricultural production reached $7.88 billion (including government payments), 5
percent below the 2007 revised figure of $8.32 billion. Record high values of production were set for two of the top five commodities. The value of production
for potatoes was $693 million compared with the previous high of $675 million set last year. The value of the 2008 hay
crop reached $588 million compared with $498 million in 2007.</description>

<title>Washington&#39;s 2009 Winter Wheat Production Up Slightly From Last Year</title>

<description>Washington&#39;s 2009 winter wheat production was a reported 96.8 million bushels, up less than one percent
from the previous year. White wheat accounted for 80 percent of the total compared with 85 percent for the
2008 crop. Based on final survey data, Washington&#39;s winter wheat growers planted an estimated 1.70
million acres last fall for harvest in 2009. With combining complete for the year, 1.64 million acres
were cut compared with 1.72 million acres for the 2008 crop. Yields average 59.0 bushels per acre, 3 bushels
higher than the 2008 crop. Washington&#39;s spring wheat production, at 26.3 million bushels, was 17 percent above last year.</description>

wheat stored in Washington totaled 133.7 million bushels, a 19 percent increase from September 1,
2008. The quantity of barley in Washington storages totaled 7.7 million bushels, down 9 percent from
the same date in 2008.

<description>Washington&#39;s first production estimate for the 2009 apple crop is 5.80 billion pounds,
unchanged from last year but 12 percent above 2007. The initial 2009 U.S. apple production
estimate is set at 10.11 billion pounds, an increase of 4 percent from last year and 11 percent above 2007.
Mostly favorable weather conditions for apple production were reported by growers in the apple
estimating States.</description>
