Major activities by South Dakota farmers and ranchers during the week were harvesting corn and sorghum for silage, planting winter wheat, fall tilling, spraying, and moving hay. Also, harvesting of soybeans began last week. Topsoil and subsoil conditions rated mostly adequate, with scattered dry pockets across the state. Statewide there were 5.5 days suitable for field work.

This report is based on information from county agents and other reporters around the state.
