Patrick Boyle

Patrick Boyle is the Acting Deputy Administrator, Office of Analysis and Estimation for USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). In this role, he oversees the agency’s agricultural estimation, analysis, and statistical modeling activities. His office is responsible for NASS’s report and publication portfolio and for developing and delivering official agricultural statistics used by producers, policymakers, markets, researchers, and the public.

Boyle has more than 26 years of experience with NASS, serving in leadership roles in survey administration, crop statistics, and national cooperative programs. He previously served as Chief of the Survey Administration Branch, Chief of the Crops Branch, and as Program Director for NASS’s cooperative program with the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture.

Earlier in his career, Boyle served as Deputy Director of NASS’s Northern Plains Regional Field Office in Lincoln, Nebraska. His NASS career has also included assignments in the North Dakota, Oregon, and Arkansas field offices and at agency headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Boyle grew up on his family’s crop and cattle farm in central North Dakota. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics from North Dakota State University in 2000 and completed American University’s Key Executive Leadership Certificate Program in 2022.
